There is a lot ot laugh about this week in Washington. The capital has become quite the comedy scene. Just ask big names Martin Lawrence, Wanda Sykes and Dave Chappelle. They all cut their teeth here. This weekend is the chance for up and comers to shine at the D.C. Comedy Fest. About 60 comics are coming to D.C. and Virginia for dozens of performances.
Tonight is also the season finale of Last Comic Standing. At 11 we talk to semi-finalist Erin Jackson who got her start at a sushi bar in downtown D.C. She talks about how supportive the D.C. comedy scene has been to her. Don’t know about you, but just the thought of standing before a live audience and trying to make them laugh makes me break out in a sweat. We’ll also tell you about plans to open a new comedy club in the District.
So if there’s a lull in your favorite Olympic sport this weekend check out the comedy scene. It’s live and a bit closer than Beijing.
